The book „IT Management in the Digital Age“, co-authored by Nils Urbach and Frederik Ahlemann, has been published by Springer.

The book explores the drastic changes currently underway in the business world under the keyword of digitalization. Technological innovations exert a significant influence on processes, products, services, and business models. The resulting digital transformation has disruptive consequences for many companies and industries. Thus far, many IT departments have focused on transforming the requirements of the business units into high-quality IT services and operating them as effectively and efficiently as possible. Now, they are increasingly called upon to play an active role in shaping the entire company. Information technology brings innovations to business, and the IT department must cooperate proactively and at an early stage with the business units to get such innovations off the ground.
